Android Apps Running In Chrome Browser

Using the ARC Welder app (shown above) Chrome OS and Browser users can run Android apps within the browser! Now, don’t get me wrong – this may not work. It is a hacked application, the original idea for this is so that devices running Chrome OS – such as a ChromeBook – would be able to run Android apps, which would allow for an extension of Chrome OS features making it a bit more that a fancy web browser PC. I love the idea of being able to run some of the most up-and-coming  apps from the Play Store – especially since the app store market is growing rapidly with more and more production value pumped into apps. So far, you will need the .apk file for the app you want to run, which I’m not overly sure about that will work on the Chrome OS devices – since they don’t have much (if any) local storage – but it still is pretty cool. It currently runs DALVIK runtime apps, not ART (android run time) which came around fully with Android 5.0.
