GTA V Gets Just Cause 2 Grappling Hook Mod
After GTA V, Just Cause 2 has to take second (maybe third after GTA IV) place in my heart for amazing games. My favorite part was always the modding and grappling hook that (of course) I modded to extend almost all the way across the freakishly large map – but now, thanks to the most amazing modding community ever, I can have the best of both worlds! As seen in the video above (By Nexus AU), you can install this mod and have the same features of the JC2 grappling hook, shooting from what looks like a standard pistol. This means you can use it to fly onto the top of a moving train, then attach a truck to one of the carriages and let the truck bounce along! Apparently, although not shown in the video, you are also able to open your parachute while travelling to a location using the hook, something I always enjoyed in Just Cause! A quick bit of info about how to install the mod, if you want to join in on the fun:
- Download the new GTA V scripthook – http://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv
- Download the mod – http://nibmodz.blogspot.com/2015/05/v-just-cause-2-mod.html (It says it requires a survey completition, but I clicked off, reloaded the page then it worked, i just had to rename the file from ‘Just’ to ‘Just.zip’ then all was fine (I did this by having the ‘show file extentions’ option in Windows Explorer turned on))
- Drop everything in the GTA V root (where GTAV.exe is)
- Enjoy.

- Ctrl + N – Show mods menu
- Left Mouse Button – When hook mode On a hook will be launched when you shoot
- Space – While moving to a target in mid-air press space to parachute
- F – Release player hook from helicopter
- Z – Release hooks from player vehicle
- H – Toggle hook mode on/off
