Streamers! Have you felt like you standard, or mini, stream deck’s are just a bit too small and you need, say, 32 programmable buttons that integrates with Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, OBS, Streamlabs OBS, and more, wellllll Elgato, now owned by Corsair by the way, thought you did – or maybe they just watched Taran from LTT’s videos… so they made this, the Elgato Stream Deck XL.

You heard me right folks, this is a 32 button stream deck. If you haven’t seen a stream deck before, first, where have you been? And second, let me run you through the deal here. Each programmable button also has a display behind it, meaning you can program images or even stuff like timers or live Twitch or Youtube viewer counters, behind each button. You can also use folders to make use of even more button configs.

So, what can you do with this? Well, lets run you through the list. Of course, this integrates with Elgato’s own software, including if you use an Elgato capture device, so that’s all there, including game replay saving if you’d rather not use Geforce experience.

Then for platform support, you’ve got Mixer, Twitch and YouTube, where you can control a good few functions like live viewer counts, sending messages, and for twitch and mixer stuff like chat modes, clipping and more. You can also send pre-written tweets from a button press too, I suppose the example is “Stream is live, come watch me!”.

You also have Xsplit, OBS and stream labs support, from stuff like switching scenes and starting or stopping the stream, skipping alerts and load more too. And finally you’ve got multi-actions, which are great as they let you do stuff like start streaming, switch to a scene in OBS, tweet that you are live and message Twitch chat telling them the stream is starting. Very cool.

So what about the “XL” part of the stream deck. Well, I personally struggled to fill it all, but since you can do stuff like launching programs and using media controls I set it up to be able to not only control the stream, but also control media, launch some games and a few other bits too.

One thing that’s unique to the XL is not only the size, but the stand too. You can have it quite upright like this, or you can pull it off it’s stand and lay it down so it’s a little less in the way. Either way works, but you might have to remove the removable type C cable from the back to switch them over.

Now for the down side. It’s $250. Now if you actually stream full time, or like Taran you need 32 programmable LCD keys, then this is fairly reasonable, but as a layman it really puts it out of the question. With that said, they do have the standard and the mini for a good bit less, so if you are a layman but like the look of this, but not the price, take a look at the smaller options instead.
