Make no mistake, if you own a Void Pro, you don’t need to look at this. It’s incredibly similar to the pro, from its design, to it’s sound, with only minor tuning details changed. With that said, if you don’t have one already, lets take a look at it.

Corsair’s VOID Elite lineup is pretty nice, I’ve used VOID headsets for a good 4 or so years now, only recently switching to the Audiotechnica ATH-G1WLs, so I can happily recommend them. This is no exception. It’s comfy with it’s thick padded headband, and fabric ear cups which are my personal preference when it comes to long gaming sessions.

While they do offer a 3.5mm jack variant – without RGB mind – the wireless one, for obvious reason, is USB with a grey dongle this time. This one still has around 16 hours of listening time, or a bit more with the RGB off, and still charges with a micro USB port, which while not the end of the world, would have been great to see changed to a type C port for this refresh.

Audio quality wise, it’s fine. I’ve been spoiled by the audiotechnicas, so I’m probably a bit more critical than usual here, but while everything is pretty clear, I felt like even on medium to low volumes the sound was incredibly sharp and a little painful on the ears to listen to. I don’t remember having that issue with either of my previous VOID headsets, so it’s likely I’m just being picky, but otherwise the quality is good.

For gaming, it’s exactly what you’d expect. The sharpness of the audio gives a clear distinction of stuff like footsteps and gunshots in game, and while it isn’t going to be giving you a crazy advantage in games, it’s still well suited for it.

As for the mic, it still mutes itself when you lift the arm up, and sound alright too.

*Mic test*

I think overall this is a decent option. It’s on the more premium end as always nearing the £100 mark, but gives a good enough experience, wireless range, mic and comfort that I am still happy to recommend it, even if this is mostly a re-brand. Would I put them on my desk? Well, if I didn’t have the audiotechnicas, definitely, since as I mentioned, for around 4 years I actually have.
