MSI GE72 Apache 2QD Review

As you can see, this thing powers through games, running them all at Ultra settings and never dipping under 30 (avg), bear in mind that these tests are the exact same tests we use for the GTX 980’s we had a couple months ago! The thing that surprised me most here was the temperature output of this. As you can see in the last image above, this reached 62 and 64 degrees for the GPU and CPU respectively. That is an amazing difference, if you consider that the GS70 hit well over 80 degrees in our tests. The screenshot above was taken right after alt+tabbing out of Unigine heaven which had been running for half an hour on loop – so not exactly idle!  It impressed me as you are actually able to use this as a laptop, as in put it on your lap and game without fear of leg amputation… There were no significantly hot areas on the laptop’s exterior at all during gaming, which is a real step up from the other laptops we have looked at!
