Thunderbolt 3 Announced – And It’s Amazing

The last two generations of Thunderbolt haven’t really impressed me. The speed is cool and all, but with USB3.1 being the same speed as Thunderbolt 1, it isn’t a very compelling value add, especially when it costs you often hundreds of dollars more than a USB alternative – and this generation isn’t much different. Sort of. With this generation, instead of basically using the mini DisplayPort connector, this time it uses the USB Type-C connector, allowing not only for USB data transmission, regular DisplayPort data, but also the 20GB/s of Thunderbolt data too! That means compatibility is limitless, something the previous generations lacked!

As you can see in the fancy new slide show at the top, the Press Release stated that you can now not only get the benefits of USB-C with it’s 10GB/s (USB3.1) and 100W of power, but also (over the same cable) transmit Displayport to up to two 4K monitors or one 5K monitor, as well as connect up to 6 thunderbolt devices in series! That is insane! Also, since they are using the USB Type C connector, you will be able to plug in standard USB 3.1 C devices without issue – meaning more manufactures could put thunderbolt on devices without problems, which could help reduce the price of Thunderbolt 3 devices, and therefore make it more standardised – something I would quite like to see, at least on things like high-end motherboards and laptops!

There are several physiotherapy clinics in London and most of the best physiotherapy clinics are seen in tadalafil 80mg West London. Something freaking insanely awesome is that using Thunderbolt 3, you are able to transmit data as if it were an ethernet cable, so can literally have 10Gb/s LAN, alongside 10GB/s USB 3.1 and 20GB/s for Displays and thunderbolt drives! How cool is that!

Anyway, that is the gist of it. If you want to know more, check out the Ars Technica UK article linked below on the topic! Let me know if you are interested in this new standard, and if you would go out of your way to buy a Thunderbolt 3 device just for the cool toys that you can get with it!
