Mechanical gaming keyboards have become a must when it comes to gaming PCs, despite them not normally playing a huge part in actually being any better at a game, compared to say a “gaming mouse” or “gaming display”. Because of this, there is actually a lot of variation in added features to make them stand out. This one from Drevo, called the Gramr, is pretty special in a couple ways.

First, it’s a TKL 75% keyboard. That means it’s missing a number pad – at least in the normal place, and everything else is crushed down into a very small package. What’s unique about this one is that none of the physical keys it’s missing are actually, well, missing. You have a number pad built into the centre of the keyboard, so by pressing the FN and NumLock buttons, it swaps all the keys labeled with numbers, so that you can still make use of it.

What’s also unique about the Gramr is it’s price. It’s just £30. Now, they don’t use genuine cherry switches, they use a fairly reputable clone in Outemu, and it only has somewhat dim white RGB lighting, but the general build quality is still pretty nice, there’s a bit of keyboard flex but nothing terrible, and the key caps themselves are double shot for the translucency, and have a nice textured feeling to them too. You’ve even got a removable USB C cable and port on the back.

Typing wise, it’s pretty nice. I’m used to a full size keyboard, so a 75% TKL is a bit tight for what I’m used to meaning I make a fair few mistakes from time to time, but overall if you get used to it it’s definitely pretty nice.

Gaming wise, well it’s as you’d expect. It performs well, it’s nice and responsive and I never had issues with the switches, or anything else for that matter. It’s a nice keyboard, and games well.

So, would I put this on my desk? Well, it’s not for me personally, I’m a full size keyboard man, but if you like smaller keyboards, or just want a good quality, and crazy cheap mechanical keyboard with your choice of switches, brown, red, blue or black, then this is definitely something I’d recommend.
