Zotac GTX 960 AMP! Edition Review
|So overall I love the small form factor of the card, it isn’t perfect due to the heat issue, but the fact this could fit in many small form factor PCs is really special – especially with the power this thing can produce for 1080p gaming!
So the obvious pros are that this is cheap for the performance, great from 1080p gaming, looks pretty awesome and as I said, it’s short, so fits in HTPC type chassis and can be used as a tiny, possibly LAN rig, type system. The cons are that is can be very loud as the size means the fans have to push as much air as they possibly can, as it gets very hot. Also, I would like to see some full size display port adapters , even just one, as they cost a lot as a consumer, but wouldn’t hurt to give the new owner a little extra choice, especially as the card is designed to be a lot more budget.
Finally, the scores. I gave this a 5 for value for money, as it is a seriously great card for the price. Performance was let down by the temperature, and functionality – the fact the card can be loud and hot, plus no DP adapters, makes this a 3 from me. Style, is has to be 5, with the carbon fiber accents and the gun metal grey backplate, I am pretty happy giving this full marks here. Finally, I’m giving this card and average score of 4 out of 5, as it is good but could do with a bit of a thermal redesign, maybe Zotac’s GTX1060 (that’s probably not what it is going to be called, although if it is, I want to be quoted as the inspiration and source! haha oh dear… anyway..) will be better in that respect.

Round Up
Overall
I really like the design, but the thermal issues make it need a little work before it gets our seal of approval!
