MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 2QE 4K Review
|In case I didn’t mention it earlier, here are the specs of the model I have out to review. It comes with an Intel i7-4720HQ quad core, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, a 3GB version of Nvidia’s GTX970m, the beautiful (yet glossy) 4K PLS screen, a 128GB M.2 SSD and a 1TB 2.5″ HDD. Overall this thing if pretty amazing, and I’m really not surprised at the 1080p gaming results – but I am surprised as the 4K results. So to explain, I used the same tests I use for desktop GPUs to test this laptop out, so at 1080p this thing tore through games, as you can see below. But since gaming at 4K on even a GTX980 isn’t too great, I turned the settings down to medium for the 4K testing. Now to no real surprise, 4K Crysis 3 just wasn’t playable, even on medium, but I was surprised at how well it played the three other games I tried, Battlefield 4, Bioshock infinite and Grid 2. All three of those were playable and looked AMAZING. I was told not to do 4K game testing, but I couldn’t resist… Sorry MSI.. Haha.
Last thing I want to cover is the software, then I’ll get on wit the round up! Check the next page for software.
