Yuneec is a large electric aviation company based in Hong Kong. They are known in the aviation industry for making small and cheap electric aircraft. Now the Chinese company have delved into booming UAV industry.

The company have been producing drones since 2014 and have been improving on them since. They even claim that the standard Q500 “has the world’s first Smart Transmitter”, all this means is that they are using a combination of 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz. This claim is good and all but if you cant land it its not of much use, but Yuneec have you covered by implementing a auto landing feature.

The quadcopter is going to be sold for $1299 compared to the DJI phantom 3 professional’s $1259. The Q500 is going to feature a 5400mAh compared to the DJI’s 4480mAh, to oversimplify this more mAh means that you will get more flight time. One of the cool things about the Q500 is that it is running android, this means that you will be able to hack this to your hearts content and make it your own if you would like, which to me is one of the coolest parts of this drone.

The drone also features all the standard features for a drone of this high price point. It features, GPS, Compass, etc. It also has a high quality 3 axis gimbal to stabilise your 4k footage. As I mentioned above the drone has a auto landing features which will make it safer for novice pilots like myself.

Even with all this tech woud you get this or a DJI?
