Whether is Apple’s airpods, Samsung’s galaxy buds, or even 1mores own TWS buds, wireless headphones have fallen into a rather particular style recently, and not necessarily for the better. 1more thought differently though, and are now offering these, their triple drive Bluetooth headphones, with, yes, a neck band.

Now in theory this give you the best of both wired and wireless worlds, as you’ve got lots of space for a big battery – and you don’t need to keep weight to an absolute minimum – but also conventional style earbuds that fit comfortably in your ears with no extra weight or complexity.

This specific unit though misses out on what I feel is a pretty crucial aspect of this style of headphones, battery life. You get around 7 hours of listening before you have to plug in the recessed – and therefore won’t work with every type c cable – type c port. What annoyed me the most about this is that their tiny TWS buds, which have not too dissimilar audio quality, albeit with less drivers, have the same battery life, even without the charging case, which when not in use keeps them topped up.

As I mentioned, the recessed type c port is really quite a pain. I would much rather have seen a “wireless” (like how jaybird do it) charging method that would have equally kept some level or waterproofing to the unit, but ideally it just would have had a much larger battery.

Now, it’s not all bad. Audio quality from them is phenomenal. Besides the larger over ear style headphones like the audeara ones I checked out recently, I don’t know that I’ve heard a better set of wireless headphones. They are a joy to listen to, crisp and good levels of bass, clear trebles and vocals and good mids too.

Sadly though, there is one other downside. The price. This triple driver model comes in at a whopping £130. Now, they can be found for around the £100 mark, but even still, that’s a lot for headphones that didn’t last a day of what I’d consider fairly normal usage.

So, would i put these on my desk? If they had double or more of battery life, and an easier way to charge them, then definitely, but as it stands now, probably not. Hopefully the battery is something they’ll improve in a v2.
