There are a hell of a lot of TWS style headphones, with the OG being Apple and their Airpods, I’ve even reviewed a set from 1MORE which I do like a fair bit, but I have two main problems with most options here, price, and security in the ear.

A chinese brand, holyhigh, asked if I wanted to check out their offering, the catchy-named BE1018, which seemed to solve both of my problems, being only around £40, and having a great over-ear support as well as being pretty slim. But are they actually any good, and worth you spending your money on? Lets see.

Lets start with audio quality, as it doesn’t matter how well they fit if I hate listening to them! I’m happy to say it’s fine. It’s not amazing, they definitely sound a bit muffled and aren’t the crispest sounding headphones in the world, but they didn’t annoy me with bad quality, but I’m not the pickiest when it comes to audio so if you are these might not be for you.

Ok, so they don’t sound horrendous, so how do they fit? Impressively well. I’m using the full over-ear support in black – you get neon yellow versions if you prefer – but you can use the full in ear support, or the smaller version too, as well as two other sizes of tips to fit your ears. They are pretty slim in the ear, they don’t stick out much and actually rest inside your ear pretty well. I would not be worried about these falling out when working out or more commonly for me when riding my bike. They are also IP67 water resistant rated so working out is all good.

The charging case is pretty big, it’s slim so it will fit in a pocket no problem, but it’s on the larger side. It’s got a weird charging method where the lid actually presses the headphones onto the charging points so the second you open the case they turn on. It charges with a micro USB port on the side, and has a 650mah battery inside meaning it can charge the headphones around 4 times from empty, with each headphone having a 60mah battery each.

As for battery life, they claim around 4 hours of listening per charge, with 22 hours of charging stored in the case, which seems to be about right, give or take a bit. One nice thing is these are bluetooth 5.0, meaning you can actually have your phone connect directly to both, rather than the usual relay system where you connect to one, then it relays to other. Connectivity wise I didn’t have much problem with them, they didn’t drop out often or anything.

Overall then, these aren’t too bad. If you want some TWS headphones for being active, these seem like a great choice. They aren’t the best sounding, or nicest feel in the hand, but they are pretty cheap, secure in the ears and waterproof. Not bad.
