First up, this video is sponsored by StreamElements, thanks to them for supporting the channel. If you want to download OBS.Live you can do so with the links in the description below.

If you already use StreamElements then OBS.Live is a no-brainer to install. It’s free and the big thing is it’s just a plugin for OBS, not another version of OBS, so nothing changes, you just get extra features and better integration. You get three main things with OBS.Live, twitch chat built into OBS, your activity feed and the music request feature built in too.

Having your Twitch chat built in is awesome, it keeps things easy to manage and lets you read chat while also keeping OBS up so you can monitor what’s happening on stream, your bitrate and all that. The activity feed is also really useful, it lets you skip or replay alerts and reload your overlays, plus gives your a nice easy to read list for shout outs. And the music request option is cool as it lets you watch YouTube videos, or just listen to them, and lets your viewers request songs or videos to play while you game or chat.

So that’s OBS.Live, for someone who uses StreamElements already, what about if you don’t? Well, let’s run you through the rest of the features. Your main ones are overlays, chatbot and their loyalty program.

Let’s start with overlays. This is pretty awesome as the overlays are all web hosted, meaning nothing needs to run on your PC and you don’t need to manually update anything, just create an overlay and add a browser source to your OBS window with the link they give you and boom, done.

You can use the template options for games like Apex, PUBG, Fortnite, Overwatch and more, or make your own, and they can be fully animated too which is great. You can also select custom alerts too which is really cool, and get Brian to read out anything with text to speech, watch!

Ok, so that’s the overlays, what about the chat bot? Well, if you’ve watched someone like Shroud’s stream, you’ll know there are a lot of commands by default you and your chat can use, stuff like uptime, song request, and more. You can also create custom commands, for stuff like your PC specs, mouse or game settings and plenty more, so feel free to play around. There’s also a whole load of modules you can enable from roulette to your twitter feed in chat.

And if that still isn’t enough, you’ve also got their loyalty program. This is pretty sweet. You can give viewers points for watching every 10 minutes of your stream for following, tipping and hosting you too. These points add up, and you can create items that viewers can spend their points on like stream perks – maybe a badge or even mod status – sound effects or an access-code list, or even physical goods like merch. You can also run contests and giveaways through the loyalty program and charge points for entries, so that only loyal viewers, and not random bots, and enter and win. Pretty nice.

My thoughts, it’s a great platform, nice that it just integrates and a lot of options available.

So, if you stream, either with or without StreamElements, I think you should take a look and see if OBS.Live can help you out and make your streams even better. If you want to download OBS.Live then there is a link in the description below!
